Terms of use
These are the terms for using Kitchenboard, made and run from Adelaide, South Australia, by Corella Club ("we"). Creating an account means you agree to them. They are written to be read. Nothing here takes away rights you have under Australian Consumer Law or any other law that protects you.
The service
Kitchenboard gives a household a shared wall display and an app for its calendar, chores, shopping and meals, with optional weather and, on Plus, links to outside calendars and feeds into your own calendar. We aim for it to be available all the time, but it is a small service and there will be short outages for maintenance and the occasional fault. We may change or improve features over time. If we remove something that matters, or close the service, we will give account holders at least 30 days' notice by email and time to export their data, and refund the unused part of anything you have paid.
Your account and household
- You must be at least 18 to create an account and you must give a working email address. Children in a household are added by an adult and do not hold accounts.
- Keep your sign-in to yourself and tell us quickly if you think someone else is using it. Changing your password from Settings signs your other devices out; paired screens are disconnected separately under Screens. You are not responsible for failures in our own security.
- A household has one or more owners and may have members. Owners can change the plan, remove members and delete the household. Members can add and change household data, invite people, pair and disconnect screens, and export the household. Invite only people you want to have that access.
- A paired screen shows your household's wall to whoever can see that screen. It is up to you where you put it and what you mark as hidden or private. Hiding an event from the wall does not hide it from household members in the app.
Plans, payment and cancelling
- Every new household gets 30 days of Plus free, with no card needed. After that the household moves to Free unless an owner chooses Plus. Free keeps the wall and the app working, with limits on how far ahead you can plan and how much you can add; repeating items and calendar sync in either direction are paused, and everything you added stays.
- Plus is A$4.99 a month or A$39 a year, in Australian dollars, including GST where it applies. The amount and how often it renews are shown before you pay. Payment is taken by Stripe when you subscribe and again at each renewal, automatically, until you cancel. Stripe's terms apply to the payment itself.
- An owner can stop automatic renewal at any time from Settings, then Plan, then the billing portal, or by emailing us if the portal is not working. Plus stays on until the end of the period you have paid for, then the household moves to Free. We do not refund the remainder of a period you chose to cancel, except where the law requires it or where the service was not as described.
- A higher price applies only from a renewal at least 30 days after we email you about it, and never changes a period you have already paid for. You can cancel before it applies.
- If a payment fails, Stripe tries again over the following days and the household stays on Plus meanwhile. If it keeps failing, the subscription ends and the household moves to Free until an owner subscribes again. Nothing you added is deleted.
- If we remove a paid feature, end a paid service, or make a change that leaves you worse off, we refund the part you have paid for and not used. Any other remedy the law gives you still stands.
Your data
What you and your household put into Kitchenboard stays yours. You give us permission to store, display and back it up so the service can work, and nothing more. Our privacy policy explains what we hold, who else handles it and how to export or delete it. You are responsible for what is entered into your household and for having the right to enter it, including outside calendar feeds you add and details you put on the wall about other people, especially children. Add only what is needed and avoid sensitive details such as diagnoses.
Acceptable use
Do not use Kitchenboard to store anything unlawful, to harass or harm anyone, to spam people with invitations, or to probe, overload or interfere with the service or other households. If we need to suspend access to protect people or the service, we will say why and, where it is safe to, give you a fair chance to put it right. If we close a household for any reason other than serious misuse, you get a chance to export its data first, and we refund what you have paid for and not used whenever we end a paid service.
Outside services
Google sign-in, outside calendars, Stripe payments and the weather forecast come from other organisations under their own terms. We show outside calendars read-only and never write into them. If one of those services changes or stops, that part of Kitchenboard may change too.
Our responsibility
Kitchenboard is a household organiser, not a medical, safety or emergency service, and not a substitute for your own judgement. Weather notes on the wall are forecast conditions from a third party, not official warnings; watch the Bureau of Meteorology or your local authority for those. Reminders can be late or missed if a phone, calendar app or network is not cooperating, so do not rely on Kitchenboard alone for anything that matters.
Under Australian Consumer Law our service comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded, and if we fall short you get the remedies that law provides. We are responsible for loss we could reasonably have foreseen when we fail to meet our obligations. These terms do not cap what consumer law entitles you to. We are not responsible for loss nobody could reasonably have foreseen.
Ending things
You can delete your account from Settings at any time; that removes your sign-in, and a household only you belong to is deleted with it. An owner can delete the whole household from Settings, which removes its data at once and cancels any subscription. We may end these terms with 30 days' notice and a refund of unused prepaid fees, or at once for serious misuse.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the law, security or the service needs it. For a change that matters we email you at least 30 days ahead and update the date at the top. If a change makes things worse for you, you can leave before it starts and we refund what you have paid for and not used. Keeping on using Kitchenboard is not how you agree to a big change to a paid service; we will ask.
Law and contact
South Australian law applies to these terms and its courts can hear any dispute, without taking away protections you have where you live. Questions or concerns: hello@kitchenboard.corella.club. We aim to reply within a few days.
