Put your family calendar on a kitchen screen.
Kitchenboard's wall is a web page. Anything with a browser and a way to stay awake works. Open kitchenboard.app/tv on it, and pair it from your phone under Settings, Screens. Pick your screen below.

Fire TV Stick on a spare TV
The low-cost option and the one to try first. The Silk browser is built in; a kiosk browser from the Fire TV store opens straight onto the wall and hides its bars. Turn the Stick's screensaver off in its Display settings and turn off the TV's own eco timer. The Fire TV Stick guide walks through it.
Google TV or Chromecast with Google TV
Install a kiosk browser from the Play Store, set the start page to kitchenboard.app/tv, and turn the screensaver off or set it to its longest delay.
Samsung and LG smart TVs
The built-in browser works. Open kitchenboard.app/tv, add it to bookmarks, and set the TV's power and screensaver settings so it stays on. These browsers cache hard; if the wall ever looks stale, the phone app's Settings has a Reload all TVs now button.
An old iPad or tablet on a stand
Open the page in Safari or Chrome, then use Guided Access (iPad) or a kiosk app (Android) so it stays on the wall. Keep it plugged in and set auto-lock to never. The old iPad guide has the settings.
A Raspberry Pi or old laptop
Chromium in kiosk mode: chromium --kiosk https://kitchenboard.app/tv. Disable screen blanking.
Things worth knowing
- The wall never shows a password. Pairing gives that screen its own key, which you can disconnect from your phone at any time. The pairing code changes every few minutes on its own.
- The wall refreshes itself within about 30 seconds of any change.
- Landscape screens show the most. Portrait works too, with the week and lists stacked under today.
- Your Google, Outlook or iCloud calendar can show on the wall too, read-only, on Plus.
