Your family calendar, on the kitchen screen.

One screen in the kitchen shows who's where today, what's for dinner and what to grab from the shops. Everyone adds to it from their own phone.

Free to start, no card needed. Plus is A$4.99 a month or A$39 a year; try it for 14 days with a card on file and cancel before the first charge if it isn't for you.

How it works

  1. Sign up on your phoneCreate your household and add the people in it.
  2. Open Kitchenboard on your TV or tabletGo to kitchenboard.app/tv on any TV or tablet you already own. It shows a code and a square to scan. Fire TV Stick guide, old iPad guide.
  3. Pair it from your phonePoint your phone's camera at the square, or type the code under Screens. The wall switches to your household straight away.
  4. Everyone adds from their phoneInvite your partner, housemates or grandparents. The wall updates itself.

Almost any TV, tablet or old iPad you already own.

No hub, no special frame. Open kitchenboard.app/tv on the screen, scan the square with your phone, and the wall is yours. See how that compares with a calendar frame.

Calendar

Everyone's events, colour-coded by person, with clash warnings. Repeats, and your Google, Outlook or iCloud calendar on the wall, are part of Plus.

Chores

Whose turn it is and what's overdue. On Plus, repeating jobs come back on their own when ticked off.

Shopping

One list the whole house adds to, tagged by store, with a recipe's ingredients added in one tap.

Meals

Tonight and tomorrow on the wall, who's cooking, who's out, and a recipe library that feeds the shopping list.

Weather

Today's temperature and a heads-up when it's going to storm, cook or blow.

Reminders in your own calendar

On Plus, each person adds their own feed to Apple, Google or Outlook once, by scanning a code, and gets native reminders.

Questions people ask

Do I need to buy a screen?

No. Any TV, tablet or old iPad with a browser works. A Fire TV Stick on a spare TV or an iPad on a stand are the usual choices, and the screens guide covers the settings.

Can it show my Google or Outlook calendar?

On Plus, yes, and only if you choose to. Paste a calendar's private feed link under Outside calendars and its events appear on the wall alongside the family's own, read-only. Kitchenboard never writes into those calendars, and you can remove the link at any time.

Do the kids need accounts?

No. Children are names on the wall that an adult adds. Only adults hold sign-ins, and each adult gets their own.

Will I get reminders in my own calendar?

On Plus, yes. Each person adds their own Kitchenboard feed to Outlook, Google or Apple Calendar once, by scanning a code, and events tagged to them appear with normal reminders. It is one-way, and the whole-household feed leaves notes out.

What does the Plus trial involve?

It is optional. Start it from Settings, Plan with a card on file; it lasts 14 days, we email you three days before it ends, and then the plan you chose (A$4.99 a month or A$39 a year) is charged unless you cancel first. Cancelling during the trial costs nothing, and everything you added stays on Free.

Does it work on a Fire TV Stick or an old iPad?

Yes. Open kitchenboard.app/tv in the browser, pair it from your phone, and set the screen so it stays awake. There is a step-by-step guide for each.
